Verdi’s Requiem enchants again

More than 150 musicians performed Giuseppe Verdi’s “Requiem Mass” at the Temple of Bacchus Friday evening, as rows of spectators looked on in awe. Describing the show afterward, spectators and performers alike used the word “magic.”Executed with verve by four renowned international vocalists, together with the Antonine University Choir and Bucharest’s Romanian Academic Radio Choir, accompanied with the Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra, Verdi’s masterpiece enchanted a small audience in the Roman ruins of Baalbeck….The performance blossomed under the baton of conductor Toufic Maatouk, who after the concert told The Daily Star he was satisfied…
